Neville Goddard Study Notes: At Your Command

I have recently decided to take the time to study and break down Neville Goddard’s work. As you may know, Neville didn’t always convey his messages in the typical ways we speak and write today due to the time period he was alive and sharing his work. With the apparent differences in communication styles from now to then, I found it necessary to break down his writing for my own better understanding of his teachings. I have felt the desire to share my own personal notes from this approach I have been pursuing, in hopes of helping anyone it may be of service to.

Although I believe Neville’s messages are pretty straightforward, there is always a level of interpretation at play with anything that may be subjective to the individual. If for any reason you disagree with my breakdown of his work, that is quite alright and understandable. My desire is not to convince anyone to agree with me, but rather to share my own interpretations and understanding is his brilliant work, with any who may find the desire to digest it. We all have a right to our own opinions and perspectives, just as I believe Neville would want it.

Below, you will find my study notes. I am studying from the Neville Collection book, which includes most, if not all, of his written work. So, when page numbers are specified, they might not be the same as yours, depending on which text you are reading from.

Enjoy my notes below. I hope they are able to serve you in some way.

“at your command” by neville goddard (study notes)

‣ (pg. 5) “Man has always decreed that which has appeared in his world and is today decreeing that which is appearing in his world and shall continue to do so as long as man is conscious of being man.”

‣ we can decree a thing and have it come to pass

we are always manifesting (creating) + have always been manifesting (creating)will ‘continue to do so (so = manifest/create) until as long as we are ‘conscious of being man’ aka a human in physical form aka alive aka consciousness expressed as man (us on earth)

‣ aka our consciousness is what creates as consciousness is what we are + consciousness = God

man = consciousness + consciousness = God + God = the creator, the all, the infinite, the limitless, the beginning + the end, the mover, creator + conduit of all good, the completion

“Decreeing is ever done in consciousness.”

decreeing = to order/to command ➔ enjoin = instruct ➔ decreeing = [to] order/command/instruct things to appear

we decree (command/order/instruct) things to appear [in our reality] in consciousness

why? how? becauseour consciousness = creates + consciousness = God (the creator of all)

“That is; every man is conscious of being that which he has decreed himself to be.”

‘conscious of being’ = aware of being

‣ therefore, creating (since consciousness creates) + therefore, = commanding, ordering, + instructing

‣ it works in reverse as well, this is a reversed engineered sentence by Neville to further elaborate + demonstrate his point

“That is; every man is conscious of being that which he has decreed himself to be.” what we are aware of being (identifying with aka creating within) = what we ‘decreeing’ = creating ourselves to be (through commanding, ordering, instructing)

what we are aware of beingwhat we command/order ourselves to be = what is created

Neville defined the bible as “... a great psychological drama taking place in the consciousness of man.”

(pg 6.) All things were made by God. This is a known fact. Without God, there is nothing made that is made.

[what is not agreed upon or understood by all men is the identity and true nature of God]

“Moses discovered God to be man’s awareness of being, when he declared these little understood words, “I AM hath sent me unto you.” David sang in his psalms, “Be still and know that I AM God.” Isaiah declared, “I AM the Lord and there is none else. There is no God besides me. I girded thee, though thou hast not known me. I form the light, and create darkness; I make peace, and create evil. I the Lord all these things.”

“The awareness of being as God is stated hundreds of times in the New Testament.”

awareness of being (aka consciousness) = God

“The awareness of being is the door through which the manifestations of life pass into the world of form.”

awareness of being (aka consciousness) = God + awareness of being (consciousness) = awareness of being one with God

the door = the opening, the way creations (manifestations) enter the physical world ➔ the door = our consciousness

‘the awareness of being is the door’ = our awareness of being is our consciousness (the door) since we know our consciousness (awareness, our state of being, identification + observation) = what manifests into our physical reality

“Consciousness is the resurrecting power–resurrecting that which man is conscious of being.”

consciousness = resurrecting power ➔ resurrect(ing) = restore to life/revive the practice, use, or memory of [something]

‘resurrecting that which man is conscious of being’ = to restore/revive/bring to life ➔ bringing to life ➔ what man is conscious of being = what man is creating

‘consciousness is the resurrecting power–resurrecting that which man is conscious of being’ = consciousness (God)is what brings to life = what is created, or formed (or creating/forming)

‣ you could say, ‘God is the resurrecting power–bringing to life [restoring] what we are aware of being and therefore creating.”

consciousness = the resurrecting power because it [also] gives us life God = consciousness + life = man is conscious + therefore = alive (aka life itself) ➔ God = consciousness = creation = life
